Backflow Device Testing
Backflow can pose a public health risk if pollutants or contaminants such as chemicals enter the drinking water supply from your property. A backflow prevention device allows water to enter the property through the water meter and prevents water from flowing back into the water supply network.
All water service connections need to be fitted with an appropriate containment backflow prevention device to protect the water supply network. Most residential properties will be considered low risk properties and not have devices fitted which require testing. Devices installed in high or medium risk properties need to be registered with the local water authority and tested at least annually by a licensed plumber endorsed for backflow prevention testing. We will conduct the required tests and send the reports onto the customer and water authority. Any servicing, repairs or replacements can be carried out by our staff.
TMV Testing
A Thermostatic Mixing Valve is a valve that blends hot water with cold water to produce an even temperature, ensuring there is constantly safe outlet temperature, preventing scalding.
Thermostatic Mixing Valves are used to protect people especially elderly, people with a disabilities and young children from the scalding effects of water that is too hot. An adequately operating TMV will shut down immediately if the temperature cannot be maintained at or below the set temperature, usually between 42-45 degrees. To ensure these are operating correctly our staff will go through the testing procedures and provide a detailed report to the client. Any faulty valves can be replaced at the time of testing.
